GoHighLevel AI Employee pricing, cost, features and the flat-rate alternative.
We compete with HighLevel, so weigh this accordingly. It is still the breakdown we would want first: every AI Employee figure below was read off HighLevel's own pricing page and support documentation on August 1, 2026, with the usage rates the roundups leave out. No invented numbers.

In short
Last updated August 2026
GoHighLevel AI Employee is an add-on to the HighLevel platform, not a standalone product, and that is the part most pricing articles get wrong. Checked on August 1, 2026, it comes in two tiers: AI Employee Growth at $50 a month per sub-account, and AI Employee Unlimited at $97 a month per sub-account. Both sit on top of a HighLevel plan that costs $97, $297 or $497 a month, and both still bill phone and SMS separately through LC Phone or Twilio, with Agent Studio staying pay-per-use on every tier. Because the add-on is charged per sub-account, an agency running ten clients on AI Employee Unlimited pays $970 a month in AI alone, before the platform. WorkAgent is a different shape: one flat $149 a month, no per-sub-account multiplication and no usage meter. If you already run your business inside HighLevel and want AI inside those funnels, calls and pipelines, AI Employee is the sensible buy. If you want a briefed agent that finishes research, list building, outreach drafting and CRM work at a predictable price, that is us.

What it handles
Where each product actually wins
What the AI Employee add-on genuinely covers, what it still bills you for, and which of the two products fits the way you actually work.
Answering inbound phone calls
GoHighLevel. Voice AI picks up missed calls, collects caller details and handles basic questions. WorkAgent does no voice work at all, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.
Running funnels, sites and SMS campaigns
GoHighLevel. It is a full marketing platform with a CRM, funnel builder, calendars and a phone system. WorkAgent is not a CRM and does not host anything.
White-label reselling to clients
GoHighLevel. Agencies can enable the add-on per sub-account and rebill it with a markup. That business model is the whole point of the platform.
Open-ended research and list building
WorkAgent. "Find the 40 firms in this market that fit, work out who runs operations at each and draft a first touch" is a job, not a workflow to configure.
A predictable total bill
WorkAgent. $149 flat covers it. AI Employee is an add-on price per sub-account plus telephony plus pay-per-use Agent Studio.
One brief covering several jobs at once
WorkAgent. Research, outreach drafting, inbox triage, CRM hygiene and the weekly report come from a single briefing rather than separate AI features.
Why it works
Why people go looking for a GoHighLevel AI Employee alternative
The price is per sub-account, and it multiplies
The $97 figure quoted everywhere is per sub-account per month, not per agency. Ten clients on AI Employee Unlimited is $970 a month in AI before you pay for the platform underneath it. That math surprises people who budgeted for one line item.
"Unlimited" does not mean the bill stops
Unlimited on the $97 tier covers Conversation AI, Voice AI, Reviews AI and Content AI usage. It does not cover the phone and SMS charges those calls and texts generate, which are billed through LC Phone or Twilio, and Agent Studio stays pay-per-use on every plan.
It is AI inside a platform, not a worker you brief
AI Employee is a set of features attached to HighLevel objects: conversations, reviews, funnels, calls. That is genuinely useful if you live in HighLevel. It is not the same as handing over an open-ended job and getting a finished result back.

| GoHighLevel AI Employee | WorkAgent | |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | Growth $50/mo, Unlimited $97/mo | $149 / month, published |
| Priced per | Sub-account, so it multiplies by client | Account, one flat price |
| Requires another subscription | Yes, a $97 to $497/mo HighLevel plan | No, that is the whole price |
| Phone and SMS charges | Billed separately via LC Phone or Twilio | Not applicable, no telephony |
| Pay-per-use on top | Agent Studio on every tier; overages on Growth | None, no credit meter |
| Answers phone calls | Yes, Voice AI | No, and deliberately not |
| CRM, funnels, websites | Yes, it is a full platform | No, it works with what you have |

| White-label rebilling to clients | Yes, with markup multipliers | No |
Growth includes 1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes a month, then charges overages at pay-per-use rates. Unlimited removes those two caps.
What GoHighLevel AI Employee costs, with the parts the roundups leave out
The headline is easy and almost every article stops there: AI Employee Growth is $50 a month and AI Employee Unlimited is $97 a month. Both of those are per sub-account. Read HighLevel's own pricing page next to its support documentation and three more cost lines appear. First, the add-on requires a HighLevel plan underneath it, and those run $97 a month for Starter, $297 for Unlimited and $497 for Agency Pro, or $970, $2,970 and $4,970 paid annually, with Enterprise quoted on request. Second, phone and SMS are never included in either AI tier; they bill through LC Phone or Twilio on top. Third, Agent Studio is pay-per-use on every plan, including the one called Unlimited.
Then there is the tier difference itself, which matters more than the $47 gap suggests. Growth at $50 includes 1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes a month, with unlimited Reviews AI and Content AI, and anything past those two caps bills at pay-per-use rates. A hundred voice minutes is under two hours of answered calls, which a single busy week can clear. Unlimited at $97 removes the response and minute caps and gives three times the Ask AI and AI Studio usage. So the honest way to read the two tiers is that Growth is a trial-sized allowance and Unlimited is the working plan for anyone who actually intends to route calls through it.
The published pay-per-use rates, in one place
These are worth writing down because they are what the overage and Agent Studio lines are charged at, and they are scattered across HighLevel documentation rather than shown on the pricing page. Voice AI bills in three components: a $0.045 per minute voice engine charge, plus text-to-speech that ranges from $0.015 a minute on the cheaper models to $0.170 a minute on ElevenLabs V3, plus the language model tokens the conversation consumes. Conversation AI is token-based, quoted at GPT-5 rates of $1.25 per million input tokens and $10.00 per million output tokens. Content AI is $0.063 an image and $0.0945 per 1,000 words. Reviews AI is $0.01 a review. Workflow AI premium actions such as Decision Maker, Intent Detection, Summarize Text and Translate are $0.01 an execution.
Agent Studio is the one to watch, because it stays pay-per-use even on the Unlimited tier: token-based for responses, $0.01 a web search, $0.04 to $0.12 an image and $0.15 to $0.40 a second for video. None of these rates is unreasonable on its own. The point is structural. There are five separate meters running behind a product marketed as an employee, and forecasting next month from this month means predicting call minutes, token consumption and generation counts across all of them. That is the specific problem flat pricing exists to remove, which is why WorkAgent publishes one number and does not meter anything.
The per-sub-account math, which is where agency budgets break
HighLevel is built for agencies, and the AI Employee add-on is enabled or disabled per sub-account in agency settings. That design is deliberate and it is good for reselling, because you can turn AI on for the clients who want it and rebill with a multiplier. It also means the price scales with your client count rather than with your company. One sub-account on Unlimited is $97 a month. Ten is $970 a month. Twenty-five is $2,425 a month, and that is before the $297 or $497 platform plan and before a single telephony minute.
For an agency reselling at a markup, that is a cost of goods rather than overhead, and the model works. For an operator who is not reselling, who simply runs two or three sub-accounts for their own brands, the multiplication is pure cost with no revenue attached to it. That is the split worth being honest about. If you bill clients for AI, per-sub-account pricing is fine and arguably correct. If you are the end user, you are paying an agency-shaped price for a single-business need, and a flat account price like our published $149 is simply a better shape for that.
What the AI Employee actually does, feature by feature
Stripped of the marketing, AI Employee is a bundle of AI features attached to things HighLevel already stores. Conversation AI replies across SMS, Facebook and Instagram, around the clock, in the thread. Voice AI answers missed calls, collects caller information and handles basic questions. Reviews AI writes responses to inbound reviews. Content AI produces campaign copy and images. Funnel and Website AI generates funnels and pages. Workflow AI adds decision and intent steps inside automations. Each one is genuinely competent, and if your business already lives inside HighLevel conversations and pipelines, having AI act on them without an integration is worth real money.
The boundary is what those features are wired to. They act on HighLevel objects, in HighLevel workflows, on triggers you configure. Ask AI Employee to research forty target accounts across the open web, work out who owns operations at each, enrich the list, draft a different first touch for every one and then keep the CRM tidy afterwards, and you are outside what a feature bundle does. That is a job, and jobs are the thing an agent takes. It is the same distinction we draw against the builders on the AI agent software page: a feature answers, an agent finishes.
Where GoHighLevel is straightforwardly the better buy
Three cases, and none of them is close. If you need software to answer your phone, buy HighLevel. Voice AI does that and WorkAgent does not do voice at all, so no amount of comparison table framing changes the answer. If you need a CRM, a funnel builder, landing pages, calendars, email and SMS marketing and a phone system in one subscription, buy HighLevel; we are not a platform and we do not host your marketing. If you are an agency that wants to resell AI to clients under your own brand with a markup, buy HighLevel, because white-label rebilling is what it was built for and we do not offer it.
The case for us is narrower and, we think, clearer. You are one business rather than an agency with sub-accounts. You want research, lead list building, outreach drafting, inbox triage, CRM updates and a weekly report handled from a plain-English brief rather than configured as features. You want one predictable invoice. And you are content to keep the send button, because we do not press it for you. Those buyers are better served by a flat agent, and the ones who need a marketing platform are better served by HighLevel. Both statements can be true at once.
How to decide in about ten minutes
Start by counting sub-accounts, because that single number decides most of it. If the answer is one and you are not reselling, per-sub-account pricing is working against you and the comparison is really $97 plus a platform plan plus telephony against one flat $149. If the answer is several and you bill clients for them, the add-on is a margin line and the arithmetic favors HighLevel. Then ask whether you need a phone answered. If yes, that is decided, and it is decided for HighLevel.
The last question is the useful one: write down the three tasks that actually cost you time this month. If they read like "reply to inbound texts faster", "respond to every Google review" and "build a landing page", those map cleanly onto AI Employee features. If they read like "find and qualify new prospects", "chase the twelve proposals nobody followed up" and "keep the CRM honest", those are open-ended jobs and they map onto an agent. Most people know which list is theirs the moment they write it down. If yours is the second, the same engine handles the research, the lead lists and the CRM hygiene, and you can see the wider category on the AI sales assistant software page or weigh the role framing on AI employee.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask about GoHighLevel AI Employee
How much does GoHighLevel AI Employee cost?
Checked on August 1, 2026, AI Employee Growth is $50 a month per sub-account and AI Employee Unlimited is $97 a month per sub-account. Both require a HighLevel plan underneath, which runs $97, $297 or $497 a month. Phone and SMS bill separately through LC Phone or Twilio, and Agent Studio remains pay-per-use on every tier, so the add-on price is not the total.
Is GoHighLevel AI Employee included in my plan?
No. It is a paid add-on on top of your existing HighLevel subscription, enabled per sub-account in agency settings rather than granted with the platform. Some individual AI features have moved to free access and no longer consume AI credits, but the AI Employee bundle itself is billed at $50 or $97 a month per sub-account. Check the current AI Product Pricing article before you budget.
Is GoHighLevel AI Employee really unlimited?
The AI usage is, within the named products. The $97 Unlimited tier removes the caps on Conversation AI responses and Voice AI minutes and covers Reviews AI and Content AI. What it does not cover is the telephony itself, since phone and SMS charges still bill through LC Phone or Twilio, and Agent Studio stays pay-per-use. So the AI meter stops and the infrastructure meter does not.
What does the GHL AI Employee do?
It bundles AI features across the HighLevel platform. Conversation AI replies to SMS, Facebook and Instagram messages around the clock. Voice AI answers missed calls and collects caller details. Reviews AI responds to reviews, Content AI writes campaign copy and images, Funnel and Website AI generates pages, and Workflow AI adds decision and intent steps to automations. Everything acts on data already inside HighLevel.
What is the difference between AI Employee Growth and Unlimited?
Allowances. Growth at $50 a month includes 1,000 Conversation AI responses and 100 Voice AI minutes, with unlimited Reviews AI and Content AI, and bills overages at pay-per-use rates. Unlimited at $97 removes the response and minute caps and triples Ask AI and AI Studio usage. Since 100 voice minutes is under two hours of calls, most businesses routing real call volume end up on Unlimited.
Is GoHighLevel AI Employee worth it?
It is worth it if you already run your business inside HighLevel and want AI acting on those conversations, reviews, funnels and calls without building an integration. It is poor value if you run a single sub-account, do not need a phone answered, and mainly want open-ended research, prospecting and follow-up work done, because you would be paying agency-shaped per-sub-account pricing for a single-business need.
What is the best GoHighLevel AI Employee alternative?
It depends which half you are replacing. For the marketing platform, the alternatives are other CRM and funnel suites. For the "software that does the work" half, a briefed agent is the closer match: WorkAgent runs research, lead list building, outreach drafting, inbox triage, CRM updates and reporting from a plain-English brief at a flat $149 a month, with no per-sub-account multiplication and no usage meter.
Can I resell GoHighLevel AI Employee to my clients?
Yes, and that is a genuine strength of the platform. Agencies enable or disable AI Employee per sub-account and can apply rebilling multipliers to charge clients above cost, which turns the add-on into a margin line rather than overhead. If reselling AI under your own brand is the business model, this is an argument for HighLevel that a flat single-account tool does not answer.
