Artisan AI pricing, Artisan Ava pricing, and what an AI SDR really costs a month.
We sell a competing product, so read this with that in mind. Every Artisan detail below was read off artisan.co/pricing on August 15, 2026. Artisan publishes no dollar figure on any tier, so we have not invented one, and we have not repeated the numbers the roundups quote. What follows is what Artisan does state, plus arithmetic you can run against whatever quote you are given.

In short
Last updated August 2026
Artisan publishes no price at all. Checked on August 15, 2026, all three tiers on artisan.co/pricing read "Pricing scoped on your plan" with a talk to sales button, including the entry tier aimed at startups. The tiers are labeled by one number, leads contacted per month, roughly 2,500 on Team and roughly 6,000 on Scale. But Artisan own FAQ states plans are sized on your lead volume, mailboxes, and dialer seats, so the number printed on the card is one of the three variables in your quote. The AI dialer sits inside the every plan includes list, described as an add on charged per seat, which means the line item listed as included is the one that costs extra. WorkAgent is the opposite shape: $149 a month, published, flat, one number for the whole job.

What it handles
Which product fits which job
What Artisan actually publishes about the cost of Ava, which variables move your quote, and where a flat monthly price is the better buy.
Running high volume outbound with a human sales team behind it
Artisan. Ava is built to sit alongside reps, send in their names from your own domains, and hand live conversations back to people who close. If you already have BDRs and AEs and want the top of the funnel run for them, that is the product Artisan sells.
Getting a price before you talk to a salesperson
WorkAgent. Ours is on the site: $149 a month. Artisan requires a 30 minute demo before you learn what it costs, which is a reasonable enterprise motion and a genuine obstacle if you are trying to compare three vendors in an afternoon.
Cold calling and a dialer
Artisan, with the caveat that the dialer is a per seat add on rather than part of the plan. WorkAgent does no voice work at all, so if calls are part of the requirement we are the wrong tool and we would rather say so here than after you sign up.
A budget you can forecast twelve months out
WorkAgent. One published number that does not move with volume. An Artisan quote is scoped per account against three variables, so it moves when your list grows, when you add mailboxes, and when you add dialer seats.
Work beyond outbound: research, inbox, CRM, reporting
WorkAgent. Ava is a specialist BDR and does that job well. If the thing you actually want delegated is a mix of research, list building, first touch outreach, inbox triage and the weekly report, a general agent covers more of it.
Enterprise rollout with a strategist and audit logs
Artisan. The Enterprise tier includes a forward deployed strategist who builds and launches the rollout, full onboarding buildout, advanced security controls and audit logs. We do not offer that and we are not pretending to.
Why it works
Why Artisan AI pricing is so hard to pin down
There is no price on the page, on any tier
This is the whole story and it is worth stating plainly. Team, Scale and Enterprise all read "Pricing scoped on your plan" with a talk to sales button. Most vendors publish the entry tier and hide only enterprise. Artisan hides all three, including the one aimed at startups running their first serious outbound motion.
The tier label prices one of three variables
The cards are labeled in leads contacted per month, about 2,500 on Team and about 6,000 on Scale. Artisan own pricing FAQ then says plans are sized to your lead volume, mailboxes, and dialer seats. Lead volume is one of those three. So the number printed on the card describes roughly a third of what sets your bill.
The dialer is listed as included and is not
Inside the "every plan includes the full platform" list, alongside every campaign type and Salesforce and HubSpot sync, sits the line "AI dialer add-on, per seat". It is the only entry in an inclusions list that is explicitly an extra, and it is charged per seat rather than per plan, so it scales with headcount rather than with volume.
Mailboxes are a priced variable, and most buyers forget them
Cold email at Artisan volumes needs sending infrastructure: multiple domains, multiple mailboxes on each, all warmed. Artisan says sending infrastructure is sized to your motion and that mailboxes are one of the three things your plan is sized on. If you have only ever priced software, this is the line item you will not have budgeted for.
Every number you have read elsewhere is somebody guess
Because Artisan publishes nothing, the figures circulating in roundups and comparison posts are inferred, reported second hand, or simply invented. Ranges from a few hundred dollars a month to well over seven thousand all appear in print. Treat all of them as unverified, including any you may have seen from us in the past.
Two audience toggles, one pricing answer
The pricing page splits into Startups and Businesses and Enterprises. Switching between them changes the framing, not the outcome: both routes end at talk to sales. The segmentation tells you Artisan prices differently for different company sizes, which is another reason a single quoted figure cannot be right for everyone.
Compare
Artisan AI pricing against WorkAgent, side by side
Artisan columns read off artisan.co/pricing on August 15, 2026. Artisan publishes no dollar figures, so the per lead rows below are our arithmetic on hypothetical quotes, not prices Artisan states. Confirm any number with the vendor before you buy.
| Artisan Team | Artisan Scale | WorkAgent | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published price | Not published | Not published | $149 / month |
| What the card says | Pricing scoped on your plan | Pricing scoped on your plan | The whole bill |
| How you learn the price | 30 minute sales demo | 30 minute sales demo | It is on the site |
| Stated volume | About 2,500 leads contacted / mo | About 6,000 leads contacted / mo | Not metered by lead |
| Variables in the quote | Leads, mailboxes, dialer seats | Leads, mailboxes, dialer seats | One, the subscription |
| AI dialer | Add-on, charged per seat | Add-on, charged per seat | Not offered, no voice at all |
| Contact database | 250M+ verified B2B contacts | 250M+ verified B2B contacts | Researched per brief |
| Cost per lead if quoted $1,000 / mo | $0.40 | $0.17 | $0.06 at 2,500 leads |
| Cost per lead if quoted $3,000 / mo | $1.20 | $0.50 | $0.06 at 2,500 leads |
| Support | CSM and onboarding | Dedicated CSM, priority support | Email support |
| Best fit | First serious outbound motion | Outbound across reps and segments | Owners delegating the whole job |
The per lead rows divide a hypothetical monthly quote by the lead volume Artisan prints on each tier. They are a tool for testing the quote you receive, not a claim about what Artisan charges. Our own $149 figure divided by 2,500 leads is about $0.06, which is arithmetic on a published price rather than on a guess.
What Artisan actually publishes about pricing, word for word
On August 15, 2026 the pricing page carries three tiers. Team is described as being for teams running their first serious outbound motion, at about 2,500 leads contacted a month. Scale, marked most popular, is for teams scaling outbound across reps and segments, at about 6,000 leads contacted a month. Enterprise is for custom volume, security and rollout support, marked simply Custom and flexible plans. Every one of the three carries the same line where a price would go: pricing scoped on your plan, followed by a talk to sales button.
The inclusions are published even though the prices are not, and they are worth reading because they tell you what you are not paying extra for. Every plan includes every campaign type, autonomous replies and meeting booking, more than 250 million verified B2B contacts, Salesforce and HubSpot bidirectional sync, and CSM support with onboarding. Scale adds a dedicated CSM, CRM setup and priority support. Enterprise adds a forward deployed strategist who builds and launches the rollout, full onboarding buildout, dedicated strategic support, and advanced security controls with audit logs. Artisan states it is SOC 2 Type II certified and supports SSO and SAML.
One line inside that inclusions list does not belong with the others. Between the CRM sync and the CSM support sits "AI dialer add-on, per seat". Read quickly it looks like another included feature. Read carefully it is the opposite: the dialer is extra, and it is priced per seat rather than per plan. If calling is part of your motion, that is a second bill that grows with the size of your sales team rather than with the size of your list.
How much does Artisan AI cost per month?
Artisan does not publish a monthly cost for any tier, so nobody outside a sales conversation can answer this accurately, including us. Checked on August 15, 2026, Team, Scale and Enterprise all say pricing is scoped on your plan and route you to a 30 minute demo. The published figures you will find elsewhere, which range from a few hundred dollars a month to well over seven thousand, are inferences rather than vendor statements.
What you can do instead of accepting a guess is bound the answer yourself. Artisan tells you the volume each tier is sized for and the three variables the quote is built from. Take the quote you are given, divide it by the lead volume on your tier, and you have a cost per lead contacted. That single number is comparable across every vendor in the category, which is exactly what a headline monthly price is not, because each vendor meters something different. Clay meters credits and actions, Zapier meters activities, Microsoft meters credits per token, and Artisan meters leads contacted.
For reference at the other end of the scale, our own price divides cleanly: $149 a month against Artisan Team volume of 2,500 leads contacted is about six cents a lead. We are not claiming that makes us the better outbound tool, because at pure volume outbound with a rep team behind it Artisan is the more specialized product. We are pointing out that the arithmetic is possible on a published price and impossible on a hidden one, and that asymmetry is the thing to weigh.
What is Artisan Ava pricing, and is Ava priced separately?
Ava is not a separate line item with its own price. Ava is the product. Artisan sells one thing, an AI BDR named Ava, and the three tiers are three sizes of the same agent rather than three different products. When you search for Artisan Ava pricing you are searching for Artisan pricing, and the answer is the same: scoped on your plan, quoted after a demo.
What does vary by tier is the human layer wrapped around Ava. On Team you get CSM support and onboarding. On Scale you get a dedicated CSM, CRM setup done for you and priority support. On Enterprise you get a forward deployed strategist who builds and launches the rollout with you. Artisan is explicit that every plan comes with a white glove rollout and that sending infrastructure is sized to your motion. So a meaningful share of what separates the tiers is people and setup, not agent capability.
That matters for how you evaluate the quote. If two tiers give you the same Ava and differ mainly in how much human help ships alongside, then the question is not which tier has the features you need but whether you need the help. A team that has run outbound before and owns its own sending infrastructure is buying less on the higher tiers than a team starting from zero. Ask the salesperson to separate the agent from the services in the quote, because the pricing page does not.
Why does Artisan not publish pricing, and what it means for you
The honest answer is that quote only pricing is normal in enterprise sales and is not evidence of anything sinister. When the cost of serving a customer varies a lot, when contracts are negotiated, and when a strategist may be assigned to a rollout, a public number would be wrong for most buyers. Artisan sells with a 30 minute demo and a forward deployed strategist on the top tier. That is a high touch motion and high touch motions rarely publish rate cards.
The practical consequence is still real. You cannot shortlist Artisan without a sales call, which means comparison shopping costs you calendar time rather than a browser tab. You have no anchor going into the negotiation, so the first number you hear is the seller number. And you cannot check whether the quote you got is the quote your peer got, because there is no published reference point to measure it against.
None of that is a reason to avoid Artisan. It is a reason to prepare. Work out your own ceiling before the demo, in cost per lead contacted rather than dollars a month, so the volume in the quote cannot move the goalposts. Ask directly what happens to the price when lead volume rises, when you add mailboxes, and when you add dialer seats, because those are the three levers Artisan itself names. Get the answer in writing before you sign.
The three variables that set your Artisan quote
Artisan pricing FAQ says plans are sized to your lead volume, mailboxes, and dialer seats. Those three deserve separate thought, because they scale with completely different things and a buyer who prices only the first will be surprised twice.
Lead volume is the one on the card and the one people plan for. It scales with your market and your ambition, and it is the variable you control most directly. Mailboxes scale with lead volume but not linearly, because deliverability sets a ceiling on how much any single mailbox can send before it burns. In practice that means more domains and more mailboxes per domain as volume grows, and each one is infrastructure somebody pays for. We wrote up the arithmetic separately in how many inboxes per domain for cold email, because it is the part of an outbound budget that is most often missed entirely.
Dialer seats scale with headcount, which is the awkward one. It means the cost of the calling layer rises as you hire reps, independently of whether your list grew. A team that doubles its sales headcount while keeping the same lead volume still pays more. If you are buying an AI BDR partly to avoid growing headcount, a per seat add on runs in the opposite direction to that goal, and it is worth asking whether you need it at all.
Artisan against the rest of the category, in comparable units
Every vendor in this space meters something different, which is why cross vendor comparison usually degenerates into comparing headline numbers that measure unrelated things. Artisan meters leads contacted per month. Clay runs two independent meters, Actions and Data Credits, and its headline plan price is simply both of them at their floor, which we set out in full on Clay pricing. Zapier Agents meters activities against a pool the whole team shares. Microsoft meters Copilot Credits, which convert to token rates. Glean meters FlexCredits pooled across the whole organization and publishes the consumption rates without ever publishing what a credit costs, which we set out on Glean pricing.
Cost per lead contacted is the unit that survives translation, and it is the one Artisan hands you for free by labeling its tiers in leads. Convert every quote you collect into that unit before you compare. A vendor charging per credit becomes comparable once you estimate credits per lead. A vendor charging per seat becomes comparable once you divide by the leads that seat handles. It is a slightly tedious hour and it is the only way to make the shortlist mean anything.
One caveat on our own column. WorkAgent is not metered by lead at all, so the six cents figure is a division rather than a rate: it is what $149 works out to if you happen to run 2,500 leads, and it would be three cents at 5,000. That is the nature of flat pricing and it is the reason we sell it. If your volume is genuinely small, flat pricing is worse value per lead than a metered plan, and we would rather you knew that than found out later.
Where Artisan is clearly the right buy
If you have a sales team and the bottleneck is the top of the funnel, Artisan is a serious product and a specialist one. Ava sends in your reps names from your own sending domains, handles replies autonomously, books meetings, and hands live conversations to people. The guardrails are real: approve before sending, lock tone and calls to action, set banned phrases, coach the writing. For a company running outbound at 6,000 leads a month across multiple segments, that specialization is worth paying for and a generalist agent is not the same thing.
The case for us is narrower and we would rather draw the line precisely than blur it. You are a founder or a small business owner. You do not have BDRs to support, and you are not trying to run 6,000 leads a month. What you want is a set of jobs finished: the market researched, the shortlist built, the first outreach drafted and sent, the replies triaged, the CRM updated, the weekly report written. You want one published number rather than a scoped quote. And you do not need a dialer, which is fortunate, because we do no voice work at all. If that is the shape of the problem, see AI SDR for the outbound specific view, AI agent pricing for the category priced line by line, and our Artisan AI alternative page for the direct comparison.
How to price Artisan properly before your demo
Do this in three steps and you will walk into the call with an anchor. First, fix your monthly lead volume honestly, not aspirationally, because the tier you get quoted follows from it. Second, decide your ceiling in cost per lead contacted rather than dollars a month. Somewhere between fifty cents and two dollars a lead is a defensible band for most B2B motions, and you can sharpen it using your own average deal value and close rate. Multiply your ceiling by your volume and that is the number you will not go above.
Third, price the two variables that are not on the card. Ask how many mailboxes and domains your volume requires and who pays for them, and ask what the dialer costs per seat and whether you need it at all. Add both to the quote before you compare it to anything. Then run the same arithmetic on every other vendor on your list, including us, and pick on cost per outcome rather than cost per month. If the numbers land close together, choose on fit: a specialist BDR if you have a sales team to feed, a generalist agent if what you actually want is the whole job taken off your desk. We set out that fork in more detail in hire an SDR or use an AI agent, and the honest version of whether these tools work at all in do AI SDRs actually work.
FAQ
Questions buyers ask about Artisan AI pricing
How much does Artisan AI cost?
Artisan publishes no price. Checked on August 15, 2026, all three tiers on artisan.co/pricing say pricing is scoped on your plan and route you to sales. Team is sized at about 2,500 leads contacted a month and Scale at about 6,000. Any dollar figure you find quoted elsewhere is an inference rather than a vendor statement.
Why does Artisan not show pricing?
Artisan sells through a 30 minute demo and scopes each plan individually, so a single public number would be wrong for most buyers. Plans are sized on lead volume, mailboxes and dialer seats, and the top tier assigns a forward deployed strategist. That is a high touch enterprise motion, and high touch motions rarely publish rate cards.
What is Artisan Ava pricing?
Ava is not priced separately. Ava is the product, and the three tiers are three sizes of the same AI BDR rather than different products. Searching for Artisan Ava pricing returns the same answer as searching for Artisan pricing: scoped on your plan, quoted after a demo. What varies by tier is mostly the human support wrapped around Ava.
How is an Artisan plan priced?
Artisan own pricing FAQ states plans are sized to your lead volume, mailboxes, and dialer seats. Only the first of those three appears on the tier cards, which are labeled at about 2,500 and about 6,000 leads contacted a month. So the number printed on the card describes roughly one third of what determines your quote.
Is the Artisan AI dialer included in the plan?
No. The dialer appears inside the every plan includes list but is described there as an add on charged per seat. It is the only entry in that list that costs extra, and because it is per seat it scales with your sales headcount rather than with your lead volume. Price it separately before you compare quotes.
Does Artisan have a free trial or a free plan?
The pricing page shows no free plan and no self serve trial. The entry point published is a 30 minute demo described as a walkthrough of how Ava would run your outbound, tailored to your ICP and current stack, during which the plan is scoped with you. Ask about a pilot on the call if trying before committing matters to you.
What is the cheapest Artisan plan?
Team is the entry tier, described as being for teams running their first serious outbound motion, at about 2,500 leads contacted a month. It includes every campaign type, autonomous replies and meeting booking, 250 million plus B2B contacts, Salesforce and HubSpot sync, and CSM support. Its price is still quote only.
What is the difference between Artisan Team and Scale?
Scale is sized at about 6,000 leads contacted a month against roughly 2,500 on Team, and it adds a dedicated CSM, CRM setup and priority support. The agent itself is the same Ava on both. A large part of the gap is the human services layer, so ask the seller to separate agent from services in your quote.
How do I compare Artisan to other AI SDR tools?
Convert every quote into cost per lead contacted, because each vendor meters something different: Artisan counts leads, Clay counts Actions and Data Credits, Zapier counts activities, Microsoft counts credits. Divide the monthly quote by monthly lead volume and the numbers become comparable. Add mailbox and dialer costs before you divide.
Is Artisan cheaper than WorkAgent?
We cannot tell you, because Artisan publishes no price and we will not invent one. Ours is $149 a month, flat and public, which at 2,500 leads is about six cents a lead. Artisan is the more specialized outbound product for a team with reps to feed. We do no voice work at all, so if a dialer is required we are the wrong tool.
